TravelArt aims to create an abstract piece of art using the data scraped from smartphone GPS’s. We created a circular board on which people’s travel data and memories are tracked, in turn creating a tangible piece of artwork that can be hung on the wall.
After scraping data from smartphone GPS systems, we used Arduino to program two servo motors in order to exchange travel data onto an x + y axis. A black painted ball then laid the traces.
In an age where the world is becoming more digital we feel that people are losing touch with their human senses. Much of modern technology takes people away from a real sensory experience that TravelArt converts back.
